STILL Summer 2025

The weekend has been fabulous. I went to London on the train and met a girlfriend that I used to be mistaken for. We were colleagues in a wonderful building in London and whenever walking out for lunch we would receive shouts or waves for the other – then relay them to each other later on. Doppelgängers. We no longer look alike – I have completely naturally white hair and she has the few white hairs on a very dark head of hair. Someone who has not had to worry much.

Saying that she has not had the greatest of lives because she lost both her mum and dad v young. Anyway her Dad has a marvellous legacy as an artist and we went to the Royal Academy where he once had a prize and she spent many times there. I have only been there with her once before and with my children and a US cousin before – really enjoyed it both times. And now I have been thrice. Twice to the Summer Exhibition. I would recommend it to anyone who has not really seen London at all and is looking for something to do in the summer which is quintessentially British. Such fun and such a lot of talent from all around the country. Photographs, paintings, sculptures.

My youngest #Willsypops is away in France. It will be the first anniversary of his Dads death on Tuesday upcoming and he was in France, or at least returning from France when his brother and I had to give him the sad news. Anyway he will still be there on Tuesday this year with his loving friend and his friends family. They always have such fun in the fresh air and lakes and sea and beaches and forests. I am glad he has this friend (who accompanied him to his Dads funeral last year).

I am glad I have my friend who I met for the Royal Academy. I am glad I have so many friends. I love my friends.

I dreamt of my ex husband last night. I made the mistake of telling my Mum on the phone today and she said that maybe he is calling me to him. Maybe my time will be up soon.

Maybe.

I am putting a photo of him on this post which reminds me of happy times with him and when he looked like Steve McQueen. There was a lovely program on Sky Arts today about Steve McQueen.
